Erick Konczyk
With over 20 years of experience as a CFO and Director of Finance, Brian brings a wealth of knowledge to his consulting work. His career in nonprofit accounting began at the Detroit Zoo, where he was immediately inspired by the staff's passion for their mission—a passion he has shared throughout his career. At this stage, his goal is to help nonprofits resolve issues, improve processes, and provide expert guidance, with the hope of making Shining Star Consulting the final chapter before retirement. A native of the Detroit suburbs, Brian holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Wayne State University. His Michigan roots are still evident in his love for visiting the Henry Ford museum and the Detroit Zoo. Family is Brian's top priority. He and his partner, Nancy, have a blended family with one son and two daughters. His greatest joy is being a grandpa to his two young grandsons. When he's not spending time with family and friends, Brian enjoys kayaking, watching football, and taking walks with his very spoiled (and deserving) English Cream Golden Retriever.

Lynetta Matteo
Lynetta grew up in New Jersey and received her undergraduate degree at University of Pennsylvania and upon moving to California received her MBA from UCLA. Lynetta has spent most of her career in health care and nonprofits. After taking time off to raise kids, she started back up part time with bookkeeping and it has grown from there! She enjoys contributing to the mission of nonprofit organizations and the structure and incentives fit closely with her personal ethics. She like to hike in local open spaces, swim in pools or the Atlantic Ocean and read novels.
-
Allison Pettit
Allison grew up and went to school in the Central Valley of California. She received her BS from Fresno State University's Craig School of Business. Allison studied the legal environment of business in college and became disillusioned by the lack of transparency in the for-profit corporate world. She still loved finance and numbers and found inspiration in working with companies that keep people at the heart of all they do. Allison enjoys her backyard chickens and reading historical fiction.
-
Susan Pleck
Susan began her career in nonprofit bookkeeping in 2011 and has worked with several organizations in the Bay Area, primarily in the arts; experience that has deepened her knowledge of accounting principles and the particular needs and requirements of nonprofits. Her goal is for those she works with to understand their finances and know their books are well looked after so they can focus on their mission. Originally from Illinois, Susan has lived in Oakland since 1996. She holds degrees in accounting from Merritt College and degrees in economics and political science from the University of Illinois. When not immersed in ledgers and spreadsheets, she enjoys birdwatching, solving word puzzles, and cheering on the Golden State Valkyries and Warriors.
