  • Monte S. Meyers, MBA, founded Shining Star Consulting in 2006. His firm has helped over 100 nonprofit organizations improve their financial systems and processes, pass audits, create effective budgets, develop clear policies and procedures, create useful financial reports, and develop insightful financial analysis. He has over 30 years of experience in the fields of accounting, strategic planning, budgets, financial systems and processes, and financial reporting. He serves on the board of directors for two nonprofit organizations. For fun, he loves backpacking in Yosemite, travelling to different parts of the world and singing the tenor part in the UC Alumni Chorus.

  • Diana has spent her entire career in the nonprofit sector fighting for social and environmental justice. Initially she developed and led programs with food justice and sustainable ag organizations, eventually discovering that she enjoyed fundraising and managing program finances. To help support more nonprofit organizations, she started her own grant writing business and worked with a family foundation to increase grant disbursements to the field. She loves working with small and mid-sized organizations to help program, development, and finance teams work more effectively together and increase their impact in communities throughout the country. 

    Diana lived in the Bay Area for 20 years before moving back to her hometown of Atlanta, GA. She enjoys playing the piano, camping with her family, and hiking with her big goofy dog, Champorado.

  • Ruth was born in Taiwan, but raised in the Bay Area where she went to school, eventually earning her BS in Bioengineering. Her professional career started in insurance and risk management, where she focused on protecting people and property. While looking for a change, she found one with Shining Star where she was offered the opportunity to learn about accounting for nonprofits. She continues to grow and learn here! Ruth loves supporting organizations that are doing so much good in the world, which aligns with her personal values: taking care of the environment and being good stewards of the resources we are lucky to have and of the people in our communities. She has two sons that have been launched into the world as a cyber security programmer and a piano tuner. Ruth has three cats - Gigi, Kiki and Lily - who often her her with her work. She enjoys singing and going on international tours with various Bay Area choirs and playing taiko (Japanese) drums. She also enjoys gardening and has a goal learning the art of Bonsai.

  • Suzanne earned her BS in Accounting from California State University - Sacramento. She started her career in public accounting and moved into corporate tax, which she stayed in for over a decade. She has been working with Shining Star in nonprofit accounting and compliance for over six years. Suzanne enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

  • Willi Sanchez has 20 years experience in the field of education ranging from classroom teacher to Principal. She earned her BA from Sonoma State, a Master’s from UC Berkeley and a Master’s from Arizona State. Willi specializes in designed systems of accountability, improving organizational structure for efficiency and success and enhancing company culture to align with Mission, Vision and Values. Her passion for service work is a family trait and one she carries with pride and hopes to pass down to her son. She lives in Arizona with her son, dog and two cats, spending her days at the baseball field and batting cages.

  • Luna brings deep experience in nonprofit finance, with a focus on building systems that support sustainability, clarity, and cross-functional collaboration. She has guided organizations through periods of change by aligning financial strategy with long-term goals, streamlining operations, and partnering with teams to adapt revenue forecasts and workflows.

    Luna is passionate about making finance approachable and mission-aligned - ensuring the numbers tell a story that empowers action. Outside of work, she’s a proud mom, early riser, and lifelong learner who finds joy in reading, reflection, and exploring the world with her family.
